About Me:

About Lady Tha ProducHer...

She would drive to New Orleans with her friends and hit the Bourbon Street scene seeking bands that were performing. She would club hop until she saw one on stage and would boldly go up and ask to improvise on the set. She was never turned down. Lady would ask what key they were in, or would simply listen in until she felt her groove. Once it was time to shine, she would whip the keys of a piano so bad or good (however you look at it) until everybody was screaming and throwing dollar bills at her. She was often asked to return, but while considering the occasion as good times, Lady did not take her music seriously. She was just having fun.

Lady Tha ProducHer formerly known as Lady Amor is the owner and house producer of Ink Butter Productions, a music production studio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The former name was her singing alias and was ceased after Lady had determined producing music was more of her creative desires as she wanted a clever name to go along with it.

Lady Tha ProducHer began piano lessons at the tender age of nine, and continued lessons for the next nine years. At age 13, she played her first wedding. At age 16, Lady played her first church service. Throughout her teenage years, she led the musicianship of several choirs and played for a series of weddings and church events. She majored in music in college and played drums in an all girls Jazz band. Her creativity led her to participate and perform in numerous talent shows, recitals and showcases.

In 1995, Lady produced and performed her first singing project, Come and Share Your Love with Me (Lady Amor). This project was a success in its own right as it led her to produce and write for numerous local recording artists. Lady soon wanted more as she felt the city of Baton Rouge needed something unique in the entertainment realm. An Evening of Love, a showcase which began as a vision, later surfaced as a test project which brought great demand for a repeat and three-peat performance. Lady was the featured performer. The showcases toured the city of Baton Rouge and surrounding areas and brought in rave reviews from local radio stations. Lady organized and self-financed the event while having numerous talented artists perform to original music while more than half were under her direct music production.

In 1999, Lady attended the taping of the Annual Stellar Music Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. During the reception, she met, ate and mingled with Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Bobby Jones, Fred Hammond, and numerous others.

In 2001, Lady was offered a position as a Project Supervisor with a major corporation. The position required extensive travel and leadership qualities in taking on large projects and supervising hundreds of people. Lady assumed this would be the perfect opportunity to network and meet prominent people across the country. As her job carried a big responsibility, it gradually put her music on the back-burner although she would still network when the opportunity presented itself.

While traveling, Lady Tha ProducHer was exposed to several cultures and adapted to various types of music. She polished her skills as a business leader and felt time had polished her music of what was to come. She’s often told her music makes an emcee not be lazy and makes a singer bring meaning to the conversation they are going to have with their audience. As she remains modest, she exclaims, she’s simply being herself and doing what comes naturally by what God has blessed.

In May 2007, Lady ceased her travels and excitedly took on a local gig with her corporate work. As she continued her efforts in adapting to work conditions of which were not favorable, it clearly enlightened her that perhaps her moment and time belonged back to her art. In November 2007, Lady resigned her duties. As it seemed one of the toughest decisions she’d ever made, she strongly felt her season for the arts was evident and it was time to take on her passion full-time.

Lady produces music from Neo-Soul to Hip-Hop, including Jazz and Gospel. She's had a host of clients through the studio from rap artists and singers to attorneys and judges campaigning for elections. The world renowned Rapper David Banner and DJ Drack Muse (Illrelatives) were frequent clients while they attended college in Baton Rouge. Lady Tha ProducHer has worked with other producers and entertainment companies in developing artists through means of songwriting, guidance, and production.

Lady’s immediate goals are to continue to promote herself as a talented and proficient producer. She wishes to work with anybody in the industry who’s lyrically gifted and truly serious about their craft whether they are a Hip-Hop Artist, Poet or Singer. Lady Tha ProducHer is also seeking to express her music production skills in television and film.

She is influenced by anyone who can and has reached her spiritually and mentally through the world of art. This behind the scene chick is up for the challenge. She's not looking to follow in anyone's footsteps. She's got a mission of her own. She's not afraid to come out of the box. She's not a trend follower, she's a trend setter. She describes her music as being well-defined with ingredients from the soul.

Lady Tha ProducHer is adamant in not referring to her music as beats or the fact that she’s a beat-maker. She personally thinks this term is inappropriate to producers and artists. "I used to make beats as a kid with my momma pots and pans. Anybody can make beats." Lady believes when instrumental elements are brought together by your own design, you are creating and producing the universal language of the beautiful thing we call Music.

During this print, her tools in the production studio consist of a Roland Fantom X6, Ensoniq ASR-10, Mackie 24x8 Bus Mixing Board w/24 Channel Meter Bridge, Akai DR16 Digital Recorder, Akai DR4 Digital Recorder, Fostex DAT Recorder, Computer System: 3.0 Ghz, 4Gb Ram, AMD (64x2) 5000+ Processor with 500 gb hard drive w/ a 19" wide screen monitor housing Cubase Studio 4, Reason 4.0, Ableton Live 6.0, and a host of other software titles, Plug-ins, M-Audio Axiom 25 MIDI Controller, a Presonus FirePod Interface, M-Audio Reference Monitors, loads of outboard processors, and a couple of AKG microphones.

Lady is well-rounded in the arts as she’s proficient in digital graphic design. She draws and sketches. She enjoys digital photography and is a self-trained computer wizard (hardware and software). She enjoys interior decorating. She's a visionary and talented in working with people.

Lady tha ProducHer is currently working on numerous projects, as well as a self-poetry album. She is also a published writer and currently working on book projects which will be revealed shortly.
