What led you to become the songwriter? What influences you to create the words you write? How do you feel about the songs you hear on the radio today? - Do they inspire you to do the same or do they make you want to go the distance and create something more? Do you want your music to make a difference in other peoples lives - who listen to it? These questions also applies to the beatmakers:)

Ok ladies - give me feedback..

When i was younger i use to sit and watch my mum write the lyrics from her favourtie song and sing them. When i got older i started doing the same. While io played the guitar or the keyboard i would write little songs. What influences me more is probably love and pain. The music i hear today, some of it moves me but not like the way it did from back in the 80s and the music that i hear in the 70s. That was the best years for song writing and production in my opinon. The music that i make i hope makes a difference in people's life. Cause that is all i am doing it for. I think the world needs an injection of something different from the norm.

I agree that songs from the 80s & 70s truly depicted beautiful lyrics. Something with some substance, especially the love songs. In music nowadays a lot of the romance & geniue love is gone. We need to get back to lyrics that stir the soul.
That's the beautiful thing about music. Some one can be singing about the exact same situation, but their spin on it, and how they deliver it, will be entirely different - you are so right about that:)

I value "words" so much.. they can speak things into existance - that's what so powerful about music. It's a great instrument to use to make a postive difference in other peoples lives.
I started writing at the age of 7 and have yet to cease.

I find inspiration in many of things, but mostly in other great artist.

Being that I believe we unconsciously absorb the energy of what we hear via tv or radio, I am very selective of what I take into my consciousness.
To be selective is a wise thing. Just like the foods you put in your body effects how it works, so does what you allow in your subconscious.

I think inspiration is all around as far as creating music. I don't like to consider what I write or sing as a type of genre of music, I just like to called it "life music".
Being from the south, in my earlier days I felt as if I had to represent for "southern" hiphop. As I've aged I see music as something transparent and it's foolish to try and contain something as big as it in a little box of "xyz music". yes, we assign it genres for our personal comprehension purposes, but there is no box for music, it reaches far and beyond..

I noticed that I would feel angry after listening to certain music, depressed or overjoyed...simply from listening to these songs..once again, the power of music...I had t stop listening to certain artist or listening to them less...I started to sound like them..project anger like them...so i wasn't flat out fabricating their work but i started to overhear them in me..not in a good way either..lol
When I was young I wanted to be a singer ,My little girlfriends and I would get together and pretend we were a band,I say pretend now ,but we were very serious about it then,,Everyone went in different directions as familys moved away,But I always had a hunger to be a singer,
That never really happened for me but music has always been in my soul,,
It's funny how I never remembered who sang the song ,but I could remember every word of the song,,I guess it didn't matter to me who did it just what feelings I got from the beats, the words..
Now I write the words, and they come from feelings and the beat, I can hear a good beat and it will bring on a feeling and away I go,,Or something will hit me in a word and I will write a whole lyric around it,,I hate to have to push a subject out ,,I got to have that feel..
Blessings Everyone

I can't really say anything inspired me to be a writer, I believe writters are born. Pain caused me to realize i was a writer. So I'm influenced by my own emotions. The musical vision motivates me. I want to be GREAT meaning the best that I can be. I challenge myself to be more creative with the delivery. I like to see growth!!! Anyone can look at my older work in comparison to the newer work and see tremendous growth.. And all of it is great.. That is what keeps me going..
I guess I inherited the poetry gene since my grandmother (RIP) became a registered author in her late 70's and has always encouraged me to put my thoughts on paper from an early age. I have since taken her advise and have written numerous poems and spoken word pieces in hopes to one day soon collaborate a spoken word CD. I am inspired to write based on how I am feeling. Whatever mood I'm in motivates me to put it on paper. I thank GOD for my grandmother who passed on a wonderful talent. It helps me relieve stress and let go of alot of emotions when I express my feelings in writing. I can really relate to music of all types, the songs I hear on the radio is a true inspiration to me and one day the poetry I write will be a hit as well. This is my inspiration for my spoken word CD. Although I'm in the raw stages... I'm one day going to live this dream and make it a reality. In the meant time I'll continue to write and create spoken word pieces until my CD is finalized.
My feelings and things that go on around me inspires me.
