How do you describe your style?

Its hard to describe my style because its a fusion of every genre I like from downtempo, electronica, soul, hip hop, rare grooves, etc. My music is emotional though, I want you to feel what I feel when you hear my sounds, and I want it to provoke thought.

What are your main inspirations for music?

I'm inspired by being able to experiment and create from my surroundings, from things I see and hear. Im inspired by anything creative, unique, and crazy weird. lol

Favorite musical sound?

Whoa, there are alot, but right now I would say, deep sub bass sounds and synths. Gotta have those synths.

What was the first album you brought?

Okay so I used to "bootleg copy" my music, you know, put a tape in a tape deck and copy songs from the radio, you had to be skilled at that cause a commercial would sneak up on ya. lol. But, I think the first album(s) I bought was Spice 1's "Eastbay Gangsta" and Queen Latifah's "Black Reign"...she's sooo amazing still to this day!

What else influences you other than music?

various forms of artistic expression, and seeing a place for me in this "man's world" which I will have my own continent in one day soon, thats why I push forward.

When is your favourite time to make music?

Early in the morning, because most likly I heard something in my sleep, or dreamed up a beat, so I have to get it out.

What emotions do you manly feel when you make your music

It depends on what mood I'm in, but I guess usually I'm laid back, which brings the downtempo element to my style.

Your main drive to do what you do

To break the "glass ceiling" in the music industry, to make known that all the talent is not in or from Atlanta, GA, but there is alot of it right next door in Birmingham, AL, and to just put out some crafty, unique, and good music.

How long have you been producing for?

I have been making beats/producing for 7yr now. I started selling beats in college to alot of underground christian hip hop artists...it was really on the rise at that time, but I decided that I would not limit myself and just produce music period, not just for indie christian hip hop artists.

Anything new coming up?

Yes, Im working with some wonderful artists now, trying to finish up a few of my own projects (i.e. The Love Beats EP; Poetry from My Poet's Tree). I'm working with some dope experienced cats from CoccRoach Records, Birmingham, Alabama is not playing I'm telling you!!!!

Favorite artists?

Of course J Dilla; Madlib; Samon Kawamura; Pete Rock; Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Bahamadia, Yolanda Adams Tonex, Kim Burrell, the list is very long. lol

What do you like about music?

That it exist and allows me to express me, I like thats its universal!

What do you dislike about music?

Hmmmm, it seems to exploit the wrong things, and anybody can get a record deal besides the artist with creativity and something to say.

If you didn't have music what else would you be doing?

I have no clue, I hate to imagine the world without music!

Life time goal, personal or musical?

To be successful and happy in whatever I do

Any words of advice?

Remember that there is only one you, so be the best "you" Do not every give up on getting what you want, stay focused, push harder... and believe in you!
